Comparison

Knowledge Company vs Profound

Measures how accurately AI answer engines describe your brand, scored against a knowledge base you maintain.

AI answer accuracy

·

·

In short

Profound measures the gap between what AI answer engines say about you and what your knowledge base says. Knowledge Company maintains the knowledge base itself. Profound's own documentation notes that accuracy depends on keeping that source of truth up to date — that is the job we do, which makes the two products complementary rather than competing.

The four coordinates

Every company in this landscape can be located by four questions. Applied consistently, the apparent crowding resolves into something much narrower.

What they do

Profound's FactCheck analyses AI responses at sentence level, isolates the verifiable claims, and scores them against a knowledge base built by crawling your domain, product pages, uploads, Google Drive and Notion. Errors are flagged, traced back to source, and ranked by commercial risk. It is included on enterprise plans.

It is the most established product in AI answer monitoring, and it does that job well.

How we differ

Profound is explicit about the dependency: the accuracy of its results depends on keeping your source of truth up to date. That is a fair and honest statement of scope, and it defines the boundary between the two products precisely.

If the knowledge base being measured against is eighteen months stale, a high accuracy score is still a high accuracy score — it simply means the AI engines are faithfully reproducing an out-of-date record. Knowledge Company maintains that record. We sit upstream of a measurement tool rather than beside it, and the two compose well.

Which one you want

Choose them if

You want to know how AI answer engines currently describe your brand, and you already have a reliable, actively maintained source of truth to measure against.

Choose Knowledge Company if

You are not confident the source of truth being measured against is current — or you want the corrections to land on the pages and documents themselves, not just in a report.

We audit the claims you publish against a maintained record, and show you every place a fact has drifted.
